Mount St. Elias Expedition Advance Basecamp!

We got another dispatch from our team on Mount St. Elias last night. It sounds like they have been working super hard but finally made it to their “advance base camp” at the base of the Mira Face, where the true technical climbing begins.

Here is their route up the ridge so far, ending with the red flag marking their current location at the advance basecamp. Look how tight those contour lines get above them on the Mira Face!

The weather is looking decent but not perfect, with sun and snow showers but some wind for the next week. We expect them to rest today and maybe tomorrow and then attempt the technical climb up the face by sometime this weekend. We will keep you posted!
