Unpacking our Groceries in McCarthy – Time-lapse Video

Out here in McCarthy, heading to the grocery store involves more than just a walk around the corner. We drive 8 hours to Anchorage to get our food, and with a group of 35+ guides, we can fill a 15-passenger van and box trailer every few weeks. Each guide fills out our order sheet with their individualized order and all the food arrives together. Unpacking the food and labeling each item with the correct guide’s initials can be quite the project, so we recorded a time-lapse video to share with you. If you were impressed with our guides out on the glacier, wait until you see them unpack an Anchorage Run!

Since 1978, St. Elias Alpine Guides has been the oldest continuously operating outfitter in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, guiding thousands of adventures across its 13.2 million acres.
