Jumbo Mine

Don your hiking shoes and climb over 4,000 vertical feet from Kennecott to the bunkhouse at the Jumbo Mine. Leave the trail and head up a rock glacier into a broad cirque and beyond to the jagged ridge. Along the way visit the tram angle station and fields of wildflowers.

Erie Mine

Walk 4 miles along the Root Glacier, then head UP, steep UP, to where the Erie Mine bunkhouse is amazingly perched on a cliff above the Root Glacier. Steep and challenging climb is rewarded with stunning views of the Stairway Icefall and the Kennicott Valley.

Bonanza Mine

Follow a wagon road then foot trail 4,000 vertical feet above Kennecott for spectacular views of the valley, Root Glacier, Donoho Peak and Mt. Blackburn. Visit the historic Bonanza Mine site and imagine what it was like to live and work there!
