Tucker
|
|
Tucker always dreamt of going to Alaska, and in 2001 that became a reality when he was invited to join a Mountaineering Park Service patrol on Mt. McKinley. He fell in love and has made Alaska his summer home, having been a member of four more patrols on Denali since. Tucker grew up in the small mountain town of Rollinsville, Colorado. He started skiing on his first birthday and hasn’t slowed down yet. He is now the Assistant Ski Patrol Director at Eldora Mountain Resort where he is also an avalanche instructor, ski guide, medic, and supervisor. Spring and summer find Tucker in Alaska, climbing and skiing peaks with good friends and future friends (what some call “clients”). As summer wanes, his feet are released from their plastic shell and wedged into narrow cracks - rock climbing in the warm sun. Tucker also loves to travel and has done a lot of trekking and climbing in South America, but his favorite thing to do is cook a delicious meal in his well-vented 1909 mountain cabin, sip warm tea, and enjoy the company of close friends. |
