Nina

Since graduating from college with a minor in Spanish, Nina has spent her time alternating between working (in order to travel) and traveling. She has lived in Spain, backpacked through Central America and volunteered as a teacher in Guatemala. She climbed volcanoes in Nicaragua, swam in lakes with freshwater sharks, battled with thieving monkeys in jungle settings, slept in countless hammocks, explored uninhabited islands off the coast of Costa Rica and climbed to the top of Volcan Baru, the highest point in Panama, from which she enjoyed a clear view of two oceans. She has also ventured beyond the spanish-speaking countries to many in Western Europe. If you are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, then Nina is your girl. Nina thrives on new experiences and a changing and challenging environment, which is why she chooses to spend half her time buzzing around the SEAG office, and the other half leading visitors on journeys on land and ice, all the while imparting exciting information about the historical significance of Kennecott. When she’s not in Alaska or gallivanting around the world, Nina spends most of her time in Portland, Oregon where she enjoys the close proximity to hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, and spends time with her favorite little person, her niece Netti. |
