Molly

The first thing you might notice about Molly is her ear to ear grin and general enthusiasm for life. Molly is the one you go to when you need some joy in your day, a hug, a backrub and/or a cozy home-cooked meal with some guitar playing on the side. We honestly do not believe that Molly is ever not smiling. As a born and raised Alaskan, Molly considers McCarthy to be like her big backyard. She has spent time in the Wrangells for over 20 years in the quaint family cabin and looks forward to her annual stay. Her enthusiasm and passion for sharing the place make any day with her a real treat. Ask her questions about surrounding geology, Kennicott history, or the plants around you -- she loves it all. Molly graduated from Bates College in Maine in 2011 with a degree in environmental studies. During her junior year, she spent 5 months in Tanzania hiking with zebras, hanging out with the Maasai, and studying elephants (or "tembo" in Kiswahili). In addition to adventuring about, Molly enjoys nordic skiing, ultimate frisbee, playing guitar, crafting, and singing. She's also a certified wilderness first responder, so if you're with her on the glacier, know that you are in good hands! |
