Growing up in central California with the high Sierra's in his backyard, Jesse Barkume learned to love the outdoors from an early age. From whitewater rafting in the summer to snowboarding in the winter, his passion for extreme outdoor sports started from around age 5. That love has grown into a diverse collection of sports. In the summer seasons you can find Jesse guiding trips down white water rapids, kiteboarding, rock climbing, canyoneering, caving, cliff jumping, sky diving, standup jet-skiing or just lying around soaking up the sun! In the winters you can find him on the slopes training snowboard instructors, backcountry snowboarding, ice climbing, glacier hiking, snow-kiting, and if you're sneaky, you can catch him watching reruns of McGyver! The past few years Jesse has started conquering the mountains and dreams in Argentina, Chili, and Peru. Keeping his travel bug going, Jesse took 25 days and rowed the 226 miles of the Grand Canyon. Jesse not only has a love for the outdoors but he also has a respect for it with a certification in wilderness education and a strong desire to protect and preserve our natural playground for future generations to come. That plus his warm, nurturing personality makes him a perfect fit for first time back country explorers or the adrenaline seeking veterans. When you see the smile that pulls you in with the confidence that he's in charge, you know you have found Jesse. |
