Jeremy has played in mountains and on water his entire life. He has hiked, backpacked, and canoed throughout the northwestern U.S., British Columbia and southcentral Alaska. During the summer of 2002 he sailed a 24 foot boat roundtrip from Washington’s Puget Sound up into southeast Alaska before pushing further north. After two years of exploring the Chugach, Kenai, Talkeetna and Wrangell Mountains while living in Seward and Anchorage, he headed to Missoula, Montana, where he obtained an MFA in Creative Writing.

Jeremy now spends winters under the Big Sky, writing, teaching, and playing in the Rockies, and summers guiding in the Wrangells. His contagious love of the glaciers, mountains, and culture of the Wrangell-St. Elias is a driving force which clients often catch during their time with him outside. Even as he enjoys exploring other parts of the country and the world, he attributes much of what continues to be a great life to Alaska.
