Christy was born and raised in a small town in Iowa. She is graduating from the University of Iowa in May with a degree in Political Science, International Studies with an emphasis in European Studies and International Relations, and a minor in English. She has studied Spanish, Italian, and French and loves traveling more than anything. She studied abroad in Italy for a semester and backpacked through most of western and central Europe. She has also made her way through most of the United States. When she leaves us this fall she will be headed for a job in France.

This will be Christy's third summer in Alaska. The first summer she spent in Denali. When she arrived in McCarthy in 2009 she immediately fell in love. She loves the quiet, off-the-beaten track feel that is so different than the crowds that swarm Denali in the summer. Christy is indispensable in the office. She also gives a mean tour of Kennecott and is especially good at taking young kids and families out on the ice for an engaging and fun-filled hike.
