Becca

Although she'll be turning just 16 during the 2012 season, Becca is working hard towards a lofty goal: Be managing in the office and guiding river trips by the time she is 18! Seeing as she's been working in the office for 4 years already and assisted on her first multi-day river trip when she was 12, she's well on her way. Despite her young age and still small stature, Becca can lift a raft and work as hard as any of our "full grown" guides. While McCarthy is remote by any standards, Becca came to us well-prepared by her upbringing in a small log cabin completely off the grid at 9,300ft in the mountains of Colorado. She spends her "off-seasons" training her 3 year old colt, Noncents, hauling a lot of hay and firewood, playing basketball and volleyball, being the ultimate social butterfly, and all the while maintaining her reputation as an excellent student in high school. We hope you're lucky enough to have Becca help you out in the office or be an assistant on your trip. |
